Celebrate You!
CONGRATULATIONS! Disneyland’s 2009 celebration is about YOU. From the moment you enter the park, the cast members are ready to celebrate your birthday, engagement, anniversary, or even just Sunday!
Their promotion beginning on January 1, 2009 allows you to get in free at the Disneyland Theme park on your birthday. However, even if you’re there 5 days after, or 2 weeks before, they will be more than happy to adorn you with a pin indicating what you are celebrating, so that everyone in the park can celebrate with you.
This last weekend, my family and I attended the celebration at the Disneyland park in Anaheim. My first stop upon entering the park was Town Hall (Guest Services). I requested a pin for my mom, who’s birthday was 8/26 (5 days prior), but we were celebrating it at the park. She wore her pin proudly, and throughout the day guests as well as cast members wished her a “Happy Birthday.”
Each and every time we passed a cast member, their heads would turn and with an ear to ear smile they would say “HAPPY BIRTHDAY!” as if they’d known her for years, and were genuinely happy it was her birthday.
The park is the same age old park that we know and love. However, the rides have been updated, and although you may feel like you’ve seen it all, there have been some new editions in recent years. The shining moment was Disney’s most recent street parade (which this year is a street PARTY). The floats rode down Main Street U.S.A and stopped in “party spots” to clap, dance, and CELEBRATE you. They grabbed kids and adults from crowd and made everyone a part of the magic.
That is what Disney is about. Making YOU feel that you’re important, and your feelings, emotions, and memories are important too. They are so important, that the Walt Disney company has put millions of dollars into parks where you can remember the good times, make memories, and celebrate YOU.
Be Yourself. Everyone else is taken.
